2010 Proposed OSMA Constitution and Bylaws Change

Resolution 01-10, introduced by the OSMA Council, proposes to reorganize the OSMA's membership structure by removing the current requirements for joint OSMA and county society membership. The new proposed membership structure will allow for OSMA-only membership, county society-only membership and joint OSMA and county society membership for those physicians who desire to have voting and office holding rights in the OSMA. The proposal assumes that the OSMA and component county societies maintain their partnership relationship for most governance purposes.
Resolution 01-10 is the work product of the Ad Hoc Committee on Structure and Governance appointed by OSMA President Roy Thomas, MD. The Committee members are Mary Wall, MD, Chair; Melissa Cunninghmam, MD; Richard Ellison, MD; Deepak Kumar, MD; Marc Saunders, DO; and Lance Talmage, Jr., MD.
