What did the OSMAPAC do for you in the last election?
In the 2008 election, over 90% of OSMAPAC-endorsed candidates won their elections. The PAC was successful in electing qualified candidates who support the practice of medicine in races for the Ohio General Assembly and the Ohio Supreme Court.
Most noteworthy, the OSMAPAC has been instrumental in protecting the judicial philosophy of the Ohio Supreme Court. We supported the re-election efforts of two experienced jurists to the Ohio Supreme Court with a judicial philosophy of interpreting the law rather than rewriting laws from the bench. In addition to financially backing Justices Evelyn Landberg Stratton and Maureen O’Connor, the Justices were featured twice in Ohio Medicine (once on the cover) and six times in OSMA This Week. OSMAPAC produced 24,000 prescription pads and posters supporting the candidates, and 26,000 Supreme Court postcards were sent to OSMA members. The Justices also appeared on the front of the 14,000 OSMAPAC slate cards.
