Grace Period for Primary Care Medicaid Reimbursement Rate Increase Extended to February 2Friday, January 18, 2013
If you are a primary care physician providing patient care to Medicaid eligible individuals you may be eligible to receive increased Medicaid reimbursements, but only if you act quickly. For physicians who self-attest from January 1, 2013 through February 2, 2013, the effective date for the enhanced payment, if approved, will be January 1, 2013. For approved self-attestations submitted February 3, 2013 or later, the effective date of the enhanced payment will be the date of self-attestation.
Physicians must apply for the rate increase by self-attesting to being a primary care provider practice in the area of pediatric medicine, family medicine or internal medicine, or have a sub-specialty within one of those three areas of practice that is recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, the American Board of Physician Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association.
