OSMA Opposes Medical Board Budget Request
Thursday, November 01, 2012The State Medical Board of Ohio recently submitted a budget proposal seeking approval to increase physician licensing fees by 33 percent. At the OSMA Council meeting in September, the Council members passed a motion to oppose the Medical Board’s budget proposal as submitted to the Ohio Office of Budget and Management. The Council members also directed OSMA staff and leadership to review subsequent proposals to determine support or opposition based on the information provided in those proposals.
Last week, OSMA President, Deepak Kumar, MD, sent a letter to Gov. John Kasich expressing the OSMA’s opposition to the Medical Board’s budget request. To view a copy of the letter, click here.
