Health System Reform
The OSMA has long advocated that all Americans should have health insurance and high quality, affordable health care, regardless of employment or health status. While the "Affordable Care Act” (ACA) contains many important reforms to our health care delivery system, we believe the negatives outweigh the positives this legislation provides.
The OSMA supports the efforts of Congress to revisit the deficiencies in the ACA through any appropriate manner, including repeal of the law. As this process unfolds, we will continue to work closely with state and federal lawmakers and regulatory agencies to help ensure that as the legislation is implemented that any changes do not infringe upon the all important physician-patient relationship. A more detailed explanation of the OSMA's position on the future of the ACA is available here.
The OSMA is committed to keeping you up-to-date with upcoming regulations and the implementation schedule. We will be continually updating this page with several links to resources that may answer questions that physicians or patients have about health system reform.
