Lawyer Referral Program

The OSMA is now offering a new benefit to physician members across Ohio, the Lawyer Referral Program. This service provides physicians with access to a network of legal advisors to assist them in navigating legal issues that affect their practice.

In the past, when physicians have contacted the OSMA looking for legal counsel, recommendations have been made on an ad hoc basis. The OSMA Lawyer Referral Program connects physician members who are in need of legal counsel with lawyers who have expertise in a particular practice area through a statewide search by practice area. This program is an exclusive benefit for OSMA members and has been approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Legal services offered through the lawyer referral program are limited to preparation or review of employment contracts, preparation or review of practice buy-sell agreements, preparation or review of office or equipment lease agreements, human resource matters and representation before the State Medical Board of Ohio and other administrative agencies. Services are provided either on a fixed fee basis or as negotiated between the attorney and the physician.
