HIPAA Security Rule Toolkit
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) offers a free HIPAA Security Rule Toolkit for use by any entity, large or small, that is required to comply with HIPAA. After downloading the toolkit, formatted to work with multiple computer operating systems, it resides on the user's desktop. The toolkit walks the user through a series of questions that will help you understand HIPAA security requirements and identify steps you might need to take to come into compliance. It is not a compliance plan in and of itself but will assist in drafting a plan or auditing your security rule compliance.
