We are dedicated to improving the practice of medicine for you, your staff, and your patients by representing your best interest on key state and federal legislation, providing you with efficient business solutions and by saving you time and money through our Preferred Partner Program.

Legislative & Regulatory Advocacy:
Monitoring legislative and regulatory issues is a large part of what OSMA does. Our members help set our advocacy priorities and have an active, collective voice at the Statehouse and with the State Medical Board of Ohio. Our input is regularly sought on legislation and regulations affecting the practice of medicine in Ohio, and our members have a direct impact on the feedback we provide.
Physicians and their office staff often connect with colleagues to help solve pressing issues. OSMA membership is a great sounding board to see if others are having the same challenges, how these challenges have been addressed, and if there has been a solution that has worked—saving you time, money, and potential aggravation.
In addition to our Annual Education Symposium held each April in Columbus, we offer Medicare/Medicaid Updates, Healthcare Policy and Reimbursement Updates, and Coding and Documentation Updates for professional staff. We’re also launching physician well-being tools as part of our ongoing initiative to help doctors with the issues of fatigue and burnout. Our On-Demand webinars are another one of the many educational opportunities we offer.
Reimbursement & Payer Assistance:
We want to be problem solvers for our members. We offer reimbursement assistance to help resolve payer and coding issues your practice may have. OSMA also offers toolkits, education, and expert consulting to assist members in collecting fees from insurance companies, government payers, and patients.

Vendor Service Partnerships:
OSMA has partnered with vetted, reputable companies to provide savings to our members. Popular programs include CompManagement for Workers’ Comp; The Doctors Company for malpractice insurance; and the OSMA Insurance Agency, which realized an average increase rate of just 2.5% for 2019—far below the statewide trend.
