The behavior of your people determines the quality of patient outcomes and the performance of your practice. The R Factor equips people with the behavior skills for exceptional performance. You don’t control Events, you can’t control Outcomes, but you always control how you Respond. And how you Respond makes all the difference. This motivating presentation describes a system for developing discipline within yourself, your team, and your organization. Train yourself how to respond to anything, anywhere, anytime - daily situations, challenging goals, disruptive change, and unexpected circumstances.

There are some big changes on the horizon in Medicare and Medicaid audits and investigations. The Unified Program Integrity Contractor (UPIC) roll out in 2018 will bring higher levels of scrutiny and greater levels of risk to providers/practices because the UPIC will be auditing, and putting at risk, all federal funded payers at the same time. This session will help physicians, practice managers and compliance officers understand the UPIC program and how to prepare, respond and proactively prevent a UPIC audit.

Medical practices have the same valuable patient information as large systems, just less of it and with less protection. Additionally, they spend less on cybersecurity than larger organizations, making them a target for cybercriminals. Cybersecurity is an important defense against malicious outsiders or insiders. A good cybersecurity defense contains multiple facets including technical, physical and administrative controls. This session will cover cybersecurity basics, risk, prevention, preparation and response for your practice.
