The OSMA Foundation is committed to educating and developing the next generation of physicians. Summer Scholars supports that work through summer experiences in research, community health, advocacy, and medical education.
These opportunities give students time to explore an interest, learn from physician mentors, and understand the communities they hope to serve. Many are unpaid, making the cost of participating a barrier.

For Eiman Stiffler, who studied reconstructive surgery at University Hospitals, donor support gave him time to focus:
“I am sincerely grateful to the donors who made it possible. Their generosity gave me time to learn from patients, mentors, and data, and I will carry what it taught me into every patient encounter ahead.”
We’ll continue to share reflections from this year’s scholars in the months ahead.
