Our Foundation’s Summer Scholars program awards $2,500 stipends to medical students across Ohio’s 7 medical schools—empowering students to pursue meaningful internships that would otherwise be unpaid.

	Jad Elharake The Ohio State University College of Medicine Jad is actively engaged with the Noor Community Free Clinic, supporting their mission to provide care for the under-served Muslim community in Columbus and learning about the challenges and rewards of community-based healthcare.
	Adeline Whaley Northeast Ohio Medical University Adeline's research at NEOMED aims to develop a tool for optimizing opioid prescriptions for cancer patients in rural Northwest Ohio, balancing pain management with preventing over-prescribing in an under-served community.
	Sarah Dickman University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Sarah's internship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital investigates the impact of sex on muscle development following brachial plexus injury in children, aiming to identify more effective, targeted therapies for this disabling condition, particularly considering potential differences in outcomes for girls.
	Ali Osman Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine - Dublin Ali's internship with the Nationwide Children's Hospital STREAM Project, under Dr. Mahan and Dr. Young, focuses on improving physician mental health and resilience through a virtual curriculum, particularly for doctors in under-served or rural areas and those from BIPOC communities.
	Sophia Danchine Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Sophia's work with SOAR-net, under Dr. Pascoe, focuses on community-based pediatric health outcomes, and this funding will support the presentation of their Ohio-based research at a national PBRN conference in Virginia.
	Ashni Patel Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Ashni's research at Wright State is focused on identifying effective yet affordable cancer treatments to lessen the financial burden of medical debt on patients.
	Aiden Butler University of Toledo College of Medicine Aiden's summer research at Rosalind Franklin University in Dr. Hunsberger's lab will investigate how anxiety differently affects memory and brain function in males and females with Alzheimer's Disease.
	Stephanie Fink Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Stephanie's work in the Collins Lab within the Department of Neonatology at Wright State is supporting their journey to become a physician-scientist dedicated to advancing the field of neonatology.
